Membership requires: 501(c)(3) status or fiscal sponsorship; commitment to editorial independence and transparency; publication of donor/funding information and adherence to funding disclosure standards (no more than 15% of revenue from anonymous donors); public disclosure of conflicts of interest and independence policies; acceptance of a membership agreement and dues structure.
Dues currently range from $150 to $1,000 per year based on the organization’s annual revenue. An application fee of $250 is nonrefundable, with $150 credited toward the first year’s dues. Provisional and affiliate memberships have specific criteria and pricing variations.
